Level 2 National Certificate for Door Supervisors - BIIAB

As of 2001, with the introduction of the Private Security Industry Act (PSIA 2001) all Door Supervisors are required by law to be licenced to operate within their chosen field.

Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH)

Course Information:
Under the Licensing Act 2003, anyone authorizing the retail sale of alcohol must hold a Personal License. The Level 2 National Certificate for Personal License Holders (NCPLH) qualification enables successful delegates to apply for a Personal License. This course meticulously details social responsibilities and legal obligations of holding a Personal License and offers delegates detailed understanding of the current licensing laws and objectives.

Course Duration:
1 Day

Assessment:
At the end of the days’ training there will be a 40 minute multiple choice examination.

Course Content:
Listed below are just some of the areas explored within this programme:-

The licensing objectives and licensable activities.
The application process for a personal license.
The premises license.
The role and duties of the designated premises supervisor.
Permitted temporary licensable activities.
Police powers with regard to suspension and closure of premises.
The strengths of alcoholic drinks and the effects of alcohol on the human body.

The responsible retail sale of alcohol.
The protection of children from harm.
The specific prohibitions for the sale of alcohol.
Rights of entry to licensed premises.
Unauthorized licensable activities.

Award In Responsible Alcohol Retailing (ARAR)

Course Information:
If you are caught selling alcohol to a person who is under 18, or to someone who is drunk, you could be personally prosecuted. It’s not just members of staff that can be prosecuted but also Personal Licence Holder’s or even the Premises Licence Holders at the same time.

However if you can evidence of due diligence, you will have a valid defence.
This course is designed for anyone, including bar staff and supermarket cashiers, who work on any licensed retail premises from pubs to convenience stores that is associated in the sale of alcohol and will provide delegates with the assurance that they are fully aware of their legal responsibilities.

In addition to this it can be used as evidence of due diligence for owners and operators of licensed retail premises.

Course Duration:
1/2 Day

Support Material:
Delegates are issued with a work pack which includes the BIIAB workbook and practice examination questions.

Assessment:
At the end of training there will be a 30 minute multiple choice examination.
